2011 Hyundai Tucson
The 2011 Tucson is Hyundai's first CUV to be designed and engineered at their Frankfurt design center in Germany. With this bold new design, Hyundai has finally taken the utility box and transformed it into something exciting, attractive and versatile. With flowing curves, a sculpted hood, graceful lines and style to spare, the 2011 Tucson is the future of the crossover. It was designed to be different and all of these these details work together to truly set it apart from every other CUV on the road. Before you purchase any other SUV or CUV, you owe it to yourself to stop in to Darling's Hyundai in Augusta and test drive the new Tucson today.

The 2011 Tucson is roomy, comfortable and emphatically well equipped. With a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel and a driver seat that can be configured eight ways, there's a sweet spot for every Tucson driver. The spacious leather-appointed passenger cabin, with heated front seats and automatic climate control, maximizes comfort no matter how long or short your drive. Easily accessible controls, well-lit gauges and a dash set lower for better visibility, further enhance the driving experience, while an intelligent trip computer keeps you updated about your average speed, average MPG and even how many miles to empty.

TECHNOLOGY
The Tucson has plenty of cool tech options to get you where you're going quickly and safely. Like an integrated Bluetooth hands-free phone system that lets you take calls on the road, without taking your hands off the wheel. There's also the Tucson Navigation System, with a rearview camera for backing up, and XM® NavTraffic, with real-time road conditions, that'll help you avoid traffic jams, and give a clear picture of alternative routes.

STORAGE
Exactly how large is the Tucson cargo bay? For example, you can easily fit three snowboards in the back - and that's with the seats up. Fold down the 60/40 split rear seats and the 55.8 cu. ft. before you is more than enough to hold a mountain bike. Other storage options abound, with convenient map pockets and bottle holders integrated into door panels, a center armrest compartment and even a convenient storage tray for the rear cargo area. There's even a retractable hook on the rear seatback to keep shopping bags in their place. Not only does the Tucson have more passenger volume than comparable vehicles from Nissan, Ford and Jeep, it deploys all this extra space far more thoughtfully.

SAFETY
Tucson starts with impressive advanced safety features which are all standard. But Hyundai didn't stop there, adding innovative features like Hillstart Assist Control, Active Front Head Restraints, Six airbags and Downhill Brake Control, which you won't find standard on most of its close competitors. You'll also get Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control System (TCS) which work in tandem to prevent skids and maintain traction helping keep the vehicle under control even in difficult conditions. Research has shown that in single vehicle incidents, ESC equipped SUVs are in 67% fewer crashes, experience 63% fewer fatalities and an astounding 80% reduction in rollovers. In fact, with ESC, all fatal collisions fell 52%. Reason enough for Hyundai to make both systems standard on the Tucson. They also added an integrated Occupant Classification System which adjusts the force of airbag deployment depending on the size of the front seat passenger. Should the front seat be unoccupied, the passenger airbag won't activate at all, saving on future repair costs.

PERFORMANCE
The 2.0L engine for the GL is more fuel efficient than the CR-V and RAV4, while the 2.4L engine for the GLS and Limited has plenty of horsepower to keep up with your daily adventures. And, by squeezing more out of every drop of fuel, the Tucson's engines delivers everything you ask of them - you get power and economy, without compromise.

AWD
We all know that the weather in Maine can change rapidly, which is why the Intelligent Torque Controlled Coupling at the heart of the Tucson AWD system adjusts torque distribution between front and rear wheels to provide better handling and mileage based on the road conditions. With increased traction and the standard 18-inch tires on the Limited, the Tucson takes on mud and snow with assurance.
